Motivational Monday - Turning Disorder into Order
Anna Banana Kruchten CRS CRB, Phoenix Broker's recent post about creating a sense of calm reminded me of this quote by James Pierce. Her post gave me even more affirmation that positive minds bring about that calmness. I’m of the ‘mind-over-matter’ mindset and as I’ve shared many times in my posts, attitude is everything.
One of my favorite oncology patients that I’ve shared here had the mind-over-matter mindset and was truly an inspiration to those around her. I adored that woman and think that she did as much for me as I did for her as her nurse. Keeping calm and turning disorder into order works! If you tend to lean to the glass-half-empty mindset, I challenge you to try injecting some positive and see how it feels to leave the disorder behind.
If you are a newcomer to turning negatives to positives and don’t know where to begin, try meditation. I’ve actually had this mind-over-matter conversation with Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist before. She shared some resources for me to share with a dear friend who was going through a very rough time with cancer. Meditation truly turned her world around.
One tip for meditation - it is very important to occasionally practice meditating in imperfect conditions - it’s truly training for real life. Just as there aren’t always perfect conditions to meditate, life isn’t always perfect. Life constantly disrupts our plans; be prepared to own those plans.
