WalletHub's List Of The Safest States In Which To Celebrate Thanksgiving
No doubt, Thanksgiving 2020 won't look much like previous Thanksgiving celebrations most of us have experienced in past years. With health safety being of paramount concern this year, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 10 key metrics to determine which ones might provide the safest conditions for Thanksgiving get-togethers.
WalletHub's analysis included data to see how each state is handling the COVID-19 pandemic, including positive tests and deaths per capita in the past week, as well as other indicators of general safety like the crime rate and the average number of DUI-related fatalities in November.
Wondering how safe your state is? Click on the interactive map below.
Will seeing these statistics change your mind about how and where to spend Thanksgiving this year?
However you decide to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday this year, please remember to stay safe and remember that in spite of this pandemic we are living through, each of us has something to be grateful for.
And if you are not able to gather with loved ones this year, as Robert Caspar Lintner said:
“Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day.”
Hello Nina - thanksgiving can occur(and should in my opinion) occur everyday even as things may be different in 2020. After all, we know that life is not static and always and forever has evolved in many aspects. May your thanksgiving as well as your Thanksgiving Day be nice this year and throughout the year.

Good Morning Nina, Larry and I have always traveled with family, to family during this time of year. It certainly will be different this time around. But, we will all be visiting by Zoom!
And all this will soon be in the annals of history, and we are focused on the fact that every day we give thanks. We are alive, healthy and happy what else matters? A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel nothing else matters, Alexandra. But I am concerned about how many people I see taking chances... two of our grandsons had to be tested for COVID last week because they had reason to believe they were exposed... and it wasn't they who took the chances, but the people they had come across.
California had done extremely well during the pandemic - until that last few weeks. I'm glad our leaders and health officials take this seriously; temporary restrictions are a small price to pay.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila... we might exchange a few phone calls on Thanksgiving Day... but there'll be no zooming in my house!

Lottie Kendall hi Lottie... I guess it all comes down to how we define "temporary." I kind of remember everyone saying we'd flatten the curve in two weeks.

Rocky Dickerson hi Rocky.... I'l admit it, you had me going there for a minute! :) Maybe the state of inebriation is linked somehow to their analysis of traffic accidents.
Looks like Arizona is somewhere in the middle. Most of the cases are in Phoenix and Tucson last I heard. Golden Valley is rural. Haven't heard of any cases here.

Joan Cox hi Joan... our Thanksgiving will be very quiet... I'm not up to cooking much on one foot and after the last three weeks of little sleep because my leg hurts most at night, I'm totally exhausted. All I want to do is vedge out. Hope your day will be delightful.
