West Point Basketball Girls 1956
Memories! They are so much fun! And looking at this picture which came from the 1956 White County Basketball Tournament held in Rose Bud AR in February 1956 has to make you smile. One of the girls, front row, left to right, sent me copies of 5 years of programs. The tournament was called "The South's Most Spectacular Cage Tournament" and the program cost 25 cents with about 36 pages of ads and other information.
Jo Ann, who shared the programs, apologized for the markings but I told her the markings are part of the charm. It makes us remember the fun they were having (and the fun we were all having at some points of our lives) so I really like the markings! She and her sister, Patsy, are underlined.
If you know the Swain sisters tell them how much you enjoyed this photograph. I have published several other 1953 tournament pictures so you may notice that I didn't share the Fan Club part of the picture because I wanted the girls to be more recognizable.
