Baby it's cold outside. We're waking up to a frosty 32 degrees this morning at our multigenerational home in Camas, Washington. It's hard to believe we are just a couple of days away from December. There's still left-over turkey in the refrigerator, but we needed a break and ate cauliflower crust pizza for dinner last night.
Tonight's meal is still up for debate. Mom eats her meals with us Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. Wednesday through Friday, she eats with my sister and brother-in-law. Saturday used to be the night to eat out, but now, due to closures, she switches between our homes each week. Last night, she was with Cheri and Bob.
We're trying to help out the local eateries and order take-out on most Saturday nights. It's a fun change from the usual. Last week, we ordered a great dinner from Tommy O's in the downtown Camas Hotel. We'll do it again soon, as the three of us really enjoyed our meals. Mom had halibut fish and chips, Bernie had the same, and I enjoyed a chopped caesar salad with seared ahi.
Realizing this post is all about food makes me laugh. One would think that's all we do around here. Fortunately, that's not the case. For example, today, we're anxious to finish putting some lights up outside as wet weather delayed some of our decorating. Once it warms up, Cheri and Bob are heading to a local farm to get their Christmas tree. And mom, the football fan, will likely be glued to a game, or two, or three.
Yesterday, I wrapped up most of my online gift shoppping, and our holiday cards are being printed - Finnegan will be the star this year. As well he should be. It seems much of our year has revolved around him. Speaking of our 8-month old white Golden Retriever, what's better than one dog around the house? You got it, two! Therefore, we are excited to announce we are getting a buddy for Finnegan.
June 2020 Litter
This time, we are sticking closer to home. The breeder is located in Bend, Oregon, which is a three and half hour drive from here. We have a second pick male reserved, and if all goes well, he'll be born sometime in February. Therefore, we won't be bringing puppy home until mid-to-late April. Perfect timing, although Finnegan would prefer a playmate right now.
Hope you're having a great weekend too.
