The average sales price for Tempe homes decreased just a bit this month, while the price per square foot increased in September. Days on market increased from an all-time low of 31 in August, but still remains extremely low at 34 this month. Tempe home sales are significantly higher than in September of last year, increasing 17.7% year-over-year. The number of new listings is also higher than in September of last year by 5.3%. However, the number of active listings still remains lower than September of last year by 5.6%, but is getting closer to last years numbers.
The lack of new Tempe listings continues to drive demand and home prices higher. Home values have increased an average of 13% in the Phoenix Metro area since September of 2019. With mortgage interest rates remaining below 3.0%, there are still more buyers looking to purchase heading into the fall.
