Prospecting....A MUST In Real Estate!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Today my Keller Williams office had an event / contest called 50 Contact day!  Here is how it works....

1) Make as many dials as you can and keep track of the number of dials you make

2) Record the number of people you actually TALK to, also known as CONTACTS

3) Record the number of leads you received from the day (buyer, seller, referrals etc)

4) Record the number of appointments takent (listing, buyer etc)

It is relatively easy to make 50+ dials in one day, even one morning.  It is quite hard however to make 50 CONTACTS in one day.  I decided that I would participate in this event, which is held monthly.  Usually I just "dismiss" and say I will do it next month.  Well after participating in the Event today, I really enjoyed the even and actually WON in my office!

My numbers were as follows:

Calls Made 58

Live Contacts 28

Real Active Leads 8

Appointments 1

I encourage other realtor's to take on this concept as it can really BOOST your business.  Maybe some of you Brokers out there can encourage whole office participation.  In any case I will be making this at least a Monthly part of my business, and will try for weekly!  Don't get me wrong I prospect almost daily, but it is huge to take a half day to focus soley on calling your datatbase, internet leads, sellers, FSBO's, expired listings and whatever else you can think of to get as many new leads you can in one day!  I am CONFIDENT today's hard work will greatly increase my real estate business!

Good Luck.  Our office does this also.  I'm not a participant though.  It sounds like you're off to a great start!!

We have a "Power Hour" in our office once a week that sounds similar.  It is amazing that when you pick up the phone for the first couple calls, the reciever seems like it weighs 20 pounds!  The more calls you make, the more confident you will get.  Just remember that "no" means "not now" and it isn't a personal rejection.

Keep up the good work.  I hope the appointment is a success.
