An Unforgettable Trip To Pearl Harbor
Our Arizona Memorial
Let us never forget the horrid attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
As FDR stated, it is "a date which will live in infamy".
Two U.S. Navy battleships (the USS Arizona and the USS Utah) sank along with 188 aircraft which were destroyed. But even more important were the 2,403 service members and civilians who were killed during this attack.
If you have never had the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor and go out to the Arizona memorial, put it on your bucket list. Just be sure you are not attempting to go on a special holiday. On a regular day, it might take well over an hour to take the shuttle to the memorial. But once you are there, it is a very special place and you will be glad that you were able to pay a tribute to those fallen Heroes.
The State of Arizona's Special Memorial At the State Capital
If you get the opportunity to visit the AZ State Capital, make sure you see the memorial in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. There is an anchor, mast, and a gun done in a beautiful tribute to those fallen Heroes. Inside you will find different artifacts including silverware from the ship.
