Challenges...That is What Life is About...Overcoming Obstacles!

Challenges...that is what life is about...overcoming obstacles.

Years ago, I asked my Dad what his favorite beer was. Don't Be the Storm... He said "Cold".

He said it firmly and quickly.

Dad went on to say that when you go to someone's house your favorite beer at that time is what is being offered...as long as it is Cold.

Don’t like that brand being offered…do not complain…as it is the hospitality and friendship…not the taste of the beer that is important.

Over the past 10 months all of us have been challenged in ways we never expected a year ago in life and work.

Even here on Active Rain we have had to adjust to changes and glitches and gremlins and that has some folks sad, perplexed, confused, mad, or all of these.

If you are one of them…heck, even if you are not….do this right now:

Take a deep breath and release it slowly 3 times…close your eyes while you do it…and pause for a couple of seconds after exhaling each breath.

Ready?

GO!!

So what did that do for you...or maybe what didn't happen while you were doing it?

During the 3 breaths that we took…our blood pressure most likely dropped...we cleared at least 1 or 2 cobwebs from our thoughts that have been slowing us down...

...and someone’s computer, somewhere, crashed…but yours did not…so even though AR has a glitch or two being worked on…you are still here and so am I.  Awesome!!

With AR...even with any technical issues…how it is now is ok with me...because it is better than nothing!

And I can still get ahold of hundreds...if not thousands...if not tens of thousands...if not hundreds of thousands...of folks in the same line of work as me...all on 1 website!!  Fantastic!!                                                 Be the Light After the Storm! Mike McCann

The glitches of life will be here today and gone tomorrow...followed by some other glitch in the future...and I am just rolling with the waves. Why not join me?

Until Next time…Don’t let the waves sink your ship…and keep your beer Cold!!

Over the years we have always had issues, some far worse than the current Tiny.  It is a matter of the size of the platform being made easier for all to use.

This too shall pass

Hello Mike - like Raymond Henson, SRES, GRI, I also appreciate your Dad's thought process even though I am not a beer drinker.  While deep breaths, pauses and time-outs may be "working" overtime, perspective remains important.

This is such great advice Mike!  I wish there was a love, instead of just a like.  This is so encouraging and I think a lot of people need to hear this right now. Thanks for sharing this perspective!  Have a great day - and yes, I like my beer cold also.  If I don't like what they are serving, I will take water!

So glad to see your post featured..what a wonderful perspective to share with all of us! We do need to stop and take a deep breath..it is amazing how it will calm your whole body down and actually not find things so upsetting! There is another day and things will sort themselves out and if they don't? it's not the end of the world!

Hi Mike- what a wonderful post. First of all, I loved what your dad had to say. If we always look for what's wrong in our life...trust me, we'll find it. There are always been technical issues off and on with ActiveRain but through it all, the constant has been its members. That's a huge plus.

We have all found each other here and are singing in the rain!  It is amazing people from all over the country sharing ideas and good times.... or looking for advice or a shoulder when things aren't so good

ask my husband what his favorite pie is and he will tell you he has two favorites... hot or cold

its a Midwest thing!
