We are in the habit with owners' permission of petting dogs. This time, in the Trader Joe's parking lot, there were 5 sweet heads, and an exuberant owner who was waiting for his wife to finish her shopping at Pet Smart.
He was telling us how this was the happiest he has ever been in his life. He has not paid one iota of attention to the health crisis, because of his new career. He is following the example of the unconditional love his doggie customers. He told us that all the dogs do is exude love.
He had recently retired after years of working in the aeronautic defense industry and joined his wife in the business she created called, "Love Paws". Essentially Love Paws is a hotel dog spa in their home! They do not have a web page, nor any presence on line, it is all word of mouth. They treat their dog customers exactly the way they are treated at home by their loving owners.
It was a joy for us to listen to his story. We could feel the love of his day's work as he shared with us that he and his bride take the dogs to the Douglas preserve, 70 acres of open space of beachside bluffs with a designated off leash area for dogs.

All the pups were calm and relaxed. They are not in the business for the money. One of the dogs (white lab) is there for the price of her special food. Her owner had to leave to take care of her son back East. She had no idea how long she would be gone.
His wife returned also beaming love and sunshine and greeted each dog with a hug! She also was a delight! Their bubble was filled with love, happiness and plenty of wagging tails.
We realized that we did not exchange names with each other. We did exchange love and appreciation. This was a very special moment.
