My Little Christmas Tree...

My Little Christmas Tree

For many years, Larry and I did the whole Christmas tree thing...we shopped for our tree at a nearby lot...and I watched while Larry picked out the perfect tree.  LOL

I, on the other hand, would have been happy with a Charlie Brown tree. Something I learned early on was that it was easier for me to hand Larry the ornaments and let him place them in the “perfect” spot.

I wasn’t as concerned about that since I knew that once all of the lights were on all trees are beautiful.

And then we had to stop getting our large tree... and by the way...each year the tree we brought home kept getting larger.  Our first Brittany suddenly went blind...not from old age but an autoimmune disease.

We opted that Christmas for a tabletop tree and have had one for years. Our second Brittany had the same autoimmune disease so she too became blind at a relatively young age.

It’s too small for traditional Christmas ornaments but this one has lots of birds on it as well as Nutcrackers and Christmas Fairies.

Don't measure the height of your Christmas tree. Measure the abundance of the love present in your heart! Have a Blessed Christmas!   Unknown

The best gifts in life will never be found under a Christmas tree, those gifts are friends, family, children and the one you love.    Unknown

Kathy,

We have gone without a tree for many years now.  This was due to our love of Abby cats, who consider trees as a place to call home..  The sentiment remains in our hearts...I enjoyed this post.  A

Kathy my wife and I went the table top route as well.  She loved decorating the tree when we had kids, and later on when our granddaughter lived in CT.  But now she is in Seattle, so the table top size is fine for us.

Kathy, I used to see my cats climb the tree, play with the low hanging ornaments, and stopped putting them up.  When I moved, I threw it away.    Right after Christmas my phone starts ringing, and always a challenge getting everything put away.

Barbara Todaro I totally get it. I have the small tree, and decorations around the house. And what a pain it will be to take it down. I put up the tree for Thanksgiving. Why not!!!

Donald Urschalitz you said it perfectly...putting up our decorations puts the spirit back into Christmas, especially when you can help your local high school.

Brian England I have always loved Christmas trees but the older I get, the less I feel like putting it all away after the holidays.

Wayne Martin  I've never had the standard  ornaments on any of my trees so the smaller tree suits me just fine.

Rocky Dickerson it's not the decorations that make it Christmas, is it!

Michael Jacobs I think Bruce the Spruce and other comments are good fodder for your pondering time.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS I'm not sure there was any sound. I'll have to check.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel good reason not to have a tree. When we had cats they didn't bother our Christmas tree but we would often find him on top of the aquarium lid.

Will Hamm what's important is not the tree but that you are all safe and healthy.

I wish the same for you and Chef Dolores Roy Kelley

George Souto totally get it. It's still time-consuming to wrap each ornament at the end of the season.

Kathy when we lived in Boston I would go with Diane and pick a Fresh Christmas Tree... then when we moved to Los Angeles we got one cat and then we got a second cat.... well Mr Bond hugged and knocked the Christmas Tree over... instead of getting mad at him... I opted for a Vertical Christmas tree that he could not reach ... since then we have been averaging three cats and no Christmas Tree:)) and all is well, Endre

Morning Kathy.

It's not the size of the tree, but the love that comes from putting it up that counts

Kathy I love your little trees!  Unique and very pretty.  For years it was always my 'job' to handle the tree. I had fun creating all kinds of themes. This year we're not having a tree.  But it's very festive around here with lighted garlands on all the windows and doors plus in the entry way etc.  So pretty.  And I'm honestly fine with no tree - first for me!

Beautiful. I love your little tree. Beautiful ornaments too!

We still have a full size one...but very skinny since we moved to a much smaller home. We still select and cut down a live one every year.

I lived across a Christmas Tree farm. No need to drive. Just carried it across the road. The farm has been replaced by spec homes. Regenerated oxygen is now replenished with CO2, methane from passing cars.  This past Xmas we had a ornantal 5" tree since few people were in the mood to decorate. Just put that 5" tree and deco away.
