Thursday Afternoon: The Winds Are Back

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

When we were at the Santa Barbara Harbor picking up Petrale Sole for dinner this morning, the winds picked up.  I walked up the stairs leading to the Yacht club and took this picture.

Notice the patterned carvings in the packed sand of the berm?  This is the art work of the wind (15 mph).  Of course this is several days worth.  Yes, we are canceling our walk on the beach today! And Quincy insisted on coming in the house!

"Swift as the wind. Quiet as the forest. Conquer like the fire. Steady as the mountain"

~ Sun Tzu

"Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind."

~ Bruce Lee

"If the winds of fortune are temporarily blowing against you, remember that you can harness them and make them carry you toward your definite purpose, through the use of your imagination."

~ Napoleon Hill

We don't have winds today.  We have had a lot of rain the last 24 hours.  We woke to fog this morning, but it seems to be lifting currently.  Sun forecast for tomorrow and Saturday.

That is very interesting A. Of course I know what the wind will do to snow drifts but it never occurred to me that it would do this to sand as well. I imagine windy days on the beach are impossible if you wear contacts.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS CRB, Phoenix Broker Yes, we are staying inside and Mr. Quincy did not want to feel battered by the winds.  He weighs 11 pounds, versus 15 mph...He is sound asleep on the down comforter. LOL A

Jerry Pinkas 843-839-9870 HOMEGUIDEMYRTLEBEACH.COM we would love some rain here too.  And I have shoveled snow as a youngster, and now I clean off snow from the windshield when we fly to Utah to ski.  That is plenty.  A

Bob "RealMan" Timm We tried to take a walk once when it was windy.  That was our last ime, sandblasting or dermabrasion was very unpleasant. A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel do you think the demabrasion might erase a few wrinkles on my face if I stood out there? 😎

Hello Alexandra and Ron - while we are not expecting the arrival of snow that is greeting other parts of the country, we do have "weather" here in Southern California that can be less than sunny 365(or 366) days a year.  Overall, it's still pretty nice.

Hi Ron and Alexandra,  Thank you for sharing this interesting wind art.  We are having a couple of unseasonably warm weather these next couple of days - no wind.

I remember being at the beach in Oregon this summer when it was real windy.  Sure did blow the sand something fierce.  Didn't stay long and it was really hard walking back to the truck.

Hi Ron and Alexandra- this brings back memories of our walks along the beach at Delray. The winds were so strong once that it felt like we were being stung all over.

Morning Alexandra.

While the wind has not been blowing, the snow we received Sunday is still on the ground.  With a high of 50º by Sunday the snow will be gone.

Hi Alexandra... love how the wind "painted" the sand. I noticed it immediately even before I read you comments. And if Quincy decided it was better at home, it must have been quite windy.

Finnegan loves the wind. He gets the call of the wild and want to go outside all the time and run around in it. Glad Quincy has sense to come in. :)

Mom's family tree book first page from 19 c suggests her family is a decendent from Sun Tze. If so I am not suprised.

Went to Houston visited some family friends known since 1930s.  I saw all these antique scrolls hanging on the walls. I asked I heard you are desendents from Ming Dynasty founder. One counted their fingers and said we are 20th generation.

Dear Ron & Alexandra,

The winds of winter clean up the beach and sweep all the junk out to sea. Or bring it back, when they change their mind.
