Meat Me In St Louis
Over the years, I am sure all of us have heard/seen words or terms misinterpreted in some rather unusual ways. In a comment on one of my posts last week, Sharon Lee mentioned a funny memory of her Mom’s pronunciation of the name Phoebe. Her memory “fit” with this-at-the-time unfinished post - so, here it goes. . .
It's certainly common in real estate where specific terminology and acronyms might be tossed about quite
easily that someone not familiar might become confused. And they might not even question it. It may simply go over their head or they may ignore it.
Industry-specific lingo can do that but so can everyday language. Recently, a friend of mine told me that for the longest time, he thought rib eye steak was actually Rabbi Steak. Hmm, he never questioned it. He wasn't sure how he learned the correct version. . .but we had a good laugh.
Be careful "out there" you never know what you may be serving with your words. And this conversation extends far beyond the kitchen.
