Snow Days are Still Snow Days

I fail to understand this snow day decision when the students are so far behind.

Hello Chris Ann - I do remember when I first moved to the District in the mid 1980s and was told it rarely snowed in Washington DC but when it did - watch out - the city shuts down. 

I witnessed that the Virginia and Maryland suburbs acted like it was Southern California on a rainy day --- a truly OMG moment.  When I showed up at my office, I was one of the few who arrived and it became a day to go to the movies.  

As for your example of snow days - what can we say???  It's 2020 after all.  Let the madness continue, I feel were nowhere close to the finish line where absurdity continues to thrive.  

Hi Chris Ann- unless there was a power and/or internet outage, I have no reason I can see why VIRTUAL classes were canceled. 

When we first started looking at homes in South Florida we learned that we did not want a home whose back faced west. 

Guess the teachers were jealous of the students. Or they wanted to make snowmen

I appreciate what you're going through Chris. We close everything when we get an inch of snow I can only imagine what a real snow storm is like 🎅

Chris Ann, I cannot, or will not, say what I am truly thinking about the cancellation of Internet School due to snow. 

I will leave it at ....

We cannot fix STUPID.

Beautiful scene to look from inside with a fire going. Terrible to venture outside or stuck in the snow. 

Chris Ann, WOW...I understand when traditional school is cancelled due to extreme weather due to the risk of travel due to road conditions but if you are in vrual school mode already in your home I don't see the logic in their decision.

I am sure the decision was made based on a group of students whose individual circumstances are impacted by inclement weather and with the no child left behind programs that are in place they basically prohibit classes from being held in any form.
