Paula McDonald, Ph.D. made a great discovery.  Do you follow everyone that follows you?  I tend to follow those that interact with me and often even think of unfollowing some of those that don't, haha.

I decided to click on something here on Active Rain that I had not done before. On my home page, I clicked on "Following" and what popped up? This handy little resource showing you the fine men and women of AR who are following your blog!

Please forgive me if you were one of the people who were following me that I was not following back. Upon discovering this today, I have since corrected this and have followed back all of those people who are following me.

Having been a long-time AR member,  this surprised me yet knowing we are all busy, these little tidbits can escape us. Therefore, I thought it would make a great little series called "Active Rain - Who Knew?". I will be posting other items that may help your experience here in the Rain to be enhanced.

Now, just imagine if we all followed back those who are following us? We would expand the content we see, and would help support our fellow members! It only took me a few minutes to scroll through and correct those peeps I was not following.

Happy AR'ing! This is a great place to meet new people, learn new things, and make great connections! Who will you follow today?

I follow far fewer than follow me, and some of those that I follow have wilted from the scene.   Many hit the follow detil just because they think it's the best to do

Many of the people who are quote followers of mine no longer blog,  some have sadly passed away and others I think just do for whatever reason and have NEVER made a comment on any of my posts so while I may add some here and there I won't be following somebody just for the sake of saying as much.  I do know about the following and followers button.

Brian I also follow those who comment on my blog regularly, and not follow those who don't even if they follow me.  I also unfollow inactive members.  For example if they have not posted a blog or commented on my blog in a year, I unfollow them.  So the list of the people I follow tends to be much smaller than most members.  Also I tend to be very choosy about who I follow.

Hi Brian,
Good choice for a reblog.  I follow most of the people who follow me but I can't say I follow them all. Once in a while, I get surprised when I discover I am not following someone in particular.  I haven't checked my Following list lately. I know there are many who Followed me years ago who aren't even active here anymore.
