Winter Came In Strong in Prospect CT  Dec 16 2020

The storm came in with the strength of a Nor'easter and when I measured the depth in my yard, I was just a hair under 10 inches in depth.

The good news was the temperature was so cold that it was not heavy to shovel, but it's volume created large piles all around the walks and driveway.

For so many the idea of a winterland for Christmas is exciting and with the day a week away, it won't look as pretty then.

We have a level yard with a lot of plantings along the borders as well as a large deck for warm weather entertaining.  It's all in a dormant stage until next spring.

Even from the street, the snow is attarctive and adds that typical New England charm that we appreciate at Chrismas.

But for my tastes I still like the look in the yard in June and I'm wearing shorts and short sleeved shirt.

It does look so pretty Ed Silva and cold as well.  That's a lot of shoveling.  I honestly prefer a warmer climate but love the look of snow especially during the holidays.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS CRB, Phoenix Broker   It was in the teens when the snow fell so it didn'tt pack heavy, but just the amount made for too much work.

The lawn mower is much easier to handle

Hi Ed- Larry and I lived in Northern VA for a few years and I loved it when it snowed since I'd always lived in the south before that. I do love my warmer weather though but during the holidays it is fun to see all of the photos like yours!

Hello Ed - the "look" of your New England December scene is quite nice yet I seem to emphasize "look" because I especially enjoy it from afar.  Thank you for the weather update from Prospect Connecticut.

Loved your photos, Ed. But they also reminded me of why I moved south in 1989. Happy to see pictures of snow and none around my house.

It does look pretty! We don't have any snow at the moment - just a few piles from snow we had back in November that slid off the roof. Otherwise, nothing. My neighbor is hoping for a blizzard right around Christmas. But it's definitely not in the forecast.

What a difference the weather makes with that scene, Ed.  I've only experienced snow a few times in my life, here in Sacramento.

Ed your part of the state always seems to get more snow than mine, but this time we got 2 more inches than you.
