Yes, there can be snow in Phoenix!  Snow doesn't happen often, but it does happen on occasion. This photo was taken last year. We were out walking in the North Mountain Preserve and low and behold when I looked out over the valley - Snow on the mountains surrounding Phoenix!  It was a beautiful and unusual sight.  I loved it! I am hoping we get snow again this year.... maybe a little bit closer thou.... just saying!

Hi Anna,
I remember a few years ago when there was a snow delay at a golf tournament in Tucson. I think that was in January or February. I do know Tucson has a little higher elevation than Phoenix but still...

Yes snow on the golf course has been known to happen......or frozen water. That was always interesting Carol Williams ! It's so rare it gets massive attention by the media and the rest of us.  We love it!

That's a hefty amount of snow on those mountains.  I like how it sets a delightful backdrop for Phoenix.

Anna,

What a lovely shot of Phoenix with snow in the mountains.  We need it to rain here for our surrounding mountains to show up with snow. A

As long as I don't have to shovel it or even drive in it anymore I like to see it after it blankets the trees and ground.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat what was cool is that any direction we looked in there was snow, snow and then more snow on the moutains.  Never saw anything like this before in the Phoenix area.

Well having snow here is very rare so I'm certainly  not expecting any Kathy Streib !  Especially since it's probably going to be in the 70's which is fine by me.
