That is one of my two grandsons, Anna Banana Kruchten CRS CRB, Phoenix Broker . They are both such joys. Russell in the Christmas rocker is one of my favorite pictures. That laugh!
Raymond,
Enjoyed your story of your mom's cookies and the dog. I love that photo of your grandson, Russell, and I hope you share the photo of your other grandson. A

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel. Here is Sterling! He is a joy too. He has the other small rocker my mom painted. It is decorated with the alphabet.

Her cookies definitely look delicious and I am glad they are not sitting in front of me, they would surely put a hurt on the belly I am trying to rid myself of, haha.

Hi Raymond, thanks for sharing this delicious tale. Butch sounds like my type of dog. I'd hide some cookies for later too. The cookies do look really tasty.

Hi Raymond-I loved your post and am amazed at those painted cookies that your mother does!!! That is a real talent. I also think it was so cute that Butch "hid" the cookies that he couldn't eat. That rocker is priceless.

Brian England, next time you see me, you will understand why I my belly continues to expand. I am definitely enjoying the season.
My mom does make some great cookies, Bob Crane. I do a little hiding at times too. That dog did teach me a thing or two.

Hi Kathy Streib! Those cookies traveled a few hundred miles in the mail too. I know they started off in even better shape. The snowmen did not make it in tact. Those had to be eaten right away!
Thank you, Abby Stiller. My mom can light up a room with her spirit. I wish she lived a little closer. And I never thought being a grandparent would be so fun.

Oh, I love your story-telling, Raymond! Your Mom is amazing and how wonderful that she still sees to it that you get those decorated cookies every Christmas!
Believe it or not, I had a dog (it was a Lhasa Apso) that was VERY similar - I hung the moon in his eyes and he didn't want anyone else around me. The funny thing was, my parents didn't 'spare the rod,' so to say and when the belt or whatever my parents were going to use to spank me came out, heaven forbid my parents forget to remove the dog from my room!
He was viscious...and smart like Butch. However, I don't think my dog would have saved any cookies - he would have eaten them all until he was sick! LOL
Great story, Ray - thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Debe Maxwell, CRS. I do not know how mom still gets it all done. I am still working on Christmas Cards. Ha!
I would have liked your Lhasa Apso. We all need a protector!
