"Stay safe. Stay Healthy."
I dodged the COVID bullet, thanks to the little voice in my head.
When it became apparent how serious the COVID virus is, I went to the extreme side of caution because of my compromised lung issues. I was having my groceries delivered and rarely ventured out for several weeks.
As time went on, I tried to balance responsible caution and still lead a quality life. I wear a mask and do my own grocery shopping, and have a small bubble of friends I hang out with. I was able to golf through the summer and Fall.
In November, my step-daughter from Utah called and wanted to stay with me for a week in mid-December (last week) while she had some doctor appointments. Initially, I said yes. After doing so, I started having serious reservations because of the increase in COVID cases, and I had no idea who she had been around.
I called her and told her I didn't feel comfortable with her staying at my house. Without going into the details, suffice it to say she got mad at me, sent a few scathing messages, and hasn't spoken to me since. I considered giving in despite my concerns. I didn't. I held firm.
I received a call this morning from my other step-daughter informing me her sister has tested positive for Covid AND has pneumonia. OMG, Chills went down my spine. I was so glad I listened to that little voice in my head and held firm. Had I let her stay with me, I could very well be sick right now too! I pray she recovers without lingering effects.
Let me tell you. COVID is real. I know several people who have had family members die. It is very sad.
Stay safe out there!

Hi Brian England
When it comes to this crazy virus, I'm good with erring on the side of caution! Stay well, my friend!

Hi Kat Palmiotti
Yes, that connection between our brain and gut is often more reliable than what we think we want, isn't it? Stay well!

Isn't it interesting how some little part of our subconscious always knows more about what's good for us than our conscious minds?
When we don't listen, we generally pay a price.
I'm glad you listened and are well.

We have to listen to those messages when our brain and gut connect, don't we? Have a happy healthy New Year!

Hi John Henry, Florida Architect
That's very true. Perhaps when the crisis is over, people will be more conscious of protecting each other from other health threats.

Hi Brenda J. Andrew
I'm glad I am retired because it makes it much easier to say no to stuff.

Carol, when someone gets mad from YOUR decision to be safe is just selfish! Glad you listened. We do need to make good decisions.

I hope more of you were listening to that voice inside of your head. I just came back from inspiration one more time!

Only one voice in your head? Wow that would be a blessing. I am trying to teach mine to sing so I can have a chorus with all my voices singing in harmony. Happy 2021!
