I had forgotten how stressful it is to go to a design studio and choose all of the options available for my home. Since Parkmont Homes is just introducing their homes into the DFW market I decided it would be best for me to go to the design studio with my new home buyers and go thru the entire process with them. I decided I would be an observer and be there for to support the buyers. After about and hour and a half of looking at tile I noticed their eyes started to gloss over. I started to have a whole new appreciation for the design consultant at the studio. She handled it very well and detoured them into another area to look at something different. It was an amazing how they just came back to life. For the sales consultant who thinks that it ends after you sell the home, they are wrong. After this experience I will always go to the design studio with my buyers. Remind them through the process why they were buying a home with me in the first place. We forget how hard it is for the buyers to have to choose every thing that goes into their homes. We do it so often when we are building spec home and such, that we do not remember our first time.
I would recommend for all sales counselors go to the design studio and help them thru the process. Especially if it is their first time buying a home that they are able to customize. We took the time to build a relationship with them during the sales process and we have to continue the relationship to the end. The design consultant at the studio is meeting them for the first time and does not know their hot buttons and what is important to them. Sure it takes a little time out of the day, but you will have a happier home owner in the end.
