Holiday Closures & Trash Delays for 2020
In observance of Christmas, there will be no trash pick up on December 25. Customers regularly served on Friday will be serviced on Saturday, December 26. Random acts of Kindness, such as thoughtful gifts for Trash Collectors will be accepted if you address it, wrap it, and separate it from the real trash or wait for the trucks to hand it off personally.
Trash pick-up New Year's Day will also be picked up on Saturday, January 1.
Recycling Christmas Trees
Free Christmas Tree Recycling will be offered to residents only from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 26 through Sunday January 10 at Gerault Park, located at 1200 Gerault Road. All decorations, trees that are flocked, or have nails are not accepted.
Recycling service is not included for Commercial tree businesses.
Recycling Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste
Curb-side pick up (outside of regular trash pick up for recycling household hazardous waste & e-waste) is available by Calling Republic Services at 817-317-2000. Acceptable items include fluorescent light bulbs, latex and oil-based paints, batteries, and empty propane/helium tanks. For people moving, this is a great service!
Normal weekly trash pick up days & services include the following:
- Household hazardous waste & electronic waste collection from home.
- Senior discount off residents 65 and older monthly bill.
- Weekly bulk/brush pickup up to 4 cubic yards
Republic Services
The Town of Flower Mound signed a five-year contract with Republic Services on October 1, 2016. Come Fall, 2021, watch your local news for updates on new or extended service plans.
Where does Flower Mound Trash go?
Trash has been going to the Camelot Landfill located at 580 Huffines Blvd. in Lewisville, Texas. Flower Mound Residents may personally dispose of up to 10 cubic yards of waste once a month directly to the Landfill; however, there is an additional charge for bricks, concrete, and composition shingles. When having new roofs or other remodeling projects done at home, make sure you know how materials will be safely disposed of and what your responsibility is per the guidelines of the Town of Flower Mound.
Camelot Landfill is subject to state rules, regulations, and enforcement which may result in fines or violation fees. Because of COVID-19, before making a trip to the Landfill, call 972-492-3888.
