IT IS NOT WISE TO ASK SUCH QUESTIONS
ECCLESIASTES 7:10 Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For it is not wise to ask such questions.
MATTHEW HENRY'S COMMENTARY It is folly to cry out upon the badness of our times, when we have more reason to cry out for the badness of our own hearts; and even in these times we enjoy many mercies. It is folly to cry up the goodness of former times; as if former ages had not the like things to complain of that we have: this arises from discontent, and aptness to quarrel with God himself.

Hello Bible Broadcast in surrendering to His will we find peace and joy - no matter what the circumstances. A friend of mine was "called" to serve in Africa. First for a week. Then for a month. Then she moved there. Just yesterday we learned she had passed away from malaria. And still, I am so happy for her that she was able to serve so selflessly and faithfully prior to her passing. I am certain that given the choice of living 100 years without serving or passing away at 43 with the serving she did - she would always choose the latter.
