Men Truly Are From Mars...
The other day Larry wanted to make deviled eggs for our neighbor who was our Santa for Christmas. Jerry loves deviled
eggs and those are what he requested...primarily as a joke.
I’ve not made deviled eggs often but I don’t think they’re all that hard.
It must be a men and tools thing. It started when Larry asked me what tool I had to mash the yolks. Seriously?!
Yes...I did give him that look. Whereas a fork would have been just fine for me, Larry thought that perhaps a potato masher would work best...or a large slotted spoon...or the rotary grater we have.
And of course, there had to be a separate plate to prep the eggs first then the final plate we would take to our neighbor.
Sprinkling some Paprika on the eggs shouldn’t be all that hard...a pinch in your hand and you sprinkle it on each egg or pour some in a spoon and tap on it gently over each egg...unless you’re Larry who got out a small mesh strainer to shake the Paprika on the egg.
By the end of the “event”, we had 10 (there were a dozen but we each had to try one)beautiful deviled eggs.
And in my sink…1 pot
1 bowl for cooling the eggs
1 mixing bowl
1 small bowl for the mayo, pickles, etc.
1 cutting board,
3 different knives,
4 different spoons
Measuring spoons
1 prep platter
In the end, it really doesn’t matter how many tools he used...what’s important is that he had fun making them.
