For as long as I can remember, one of my favorite Christmas songs was Bing Cosby's, White Christmas. Yet, spending much of my life in College Station, Texas where it rarely snows, my family never had a white Christmas.
Fast forward to present day. Thanks to technology, my family has been able to divide our time between our two favorite cities. Their name's both start with the letters CO. Colorado Springs, Colorado and Corpus Christi, Texas.
So this year,we have been blessed to see a lot of white stuff over this 2020 holiday season. While there may not always be snow on the ground in the Colorado Springs area on Christmas day, we get to see lots of now over the holiday period.
Since Pikes Peak is practically Colorado Springs' backyard, we can see snow everyday from a distance during much of the year.
(Disclaimer - I am not that much into snow skiing. Those that want to ski can simply drive a few hours to Vail, Breckenridge, or one of the other ski resorts located to the west of Colorado Springs area.)
The following picture was taken at the summit of Pikes Peak in May....
This year, I have also had a white Christmas season in Corpus Christi., Texas. (Thanks to COVID-19 my kids have not been to Corpus Christi this year.) Taking into account that I spent the last 7 of the last 9 Christmas's in Colorado; the warmer weather in Corpus Christi and south Texas in general has been delightful.
The white, sandy beaches have been beautiful. (Well, almost white sandy beaches. When it is wet, the sand does not look as white.)
I was thinking, as we are about to enter 2021, this is the time to dream. To plan.
Would you like to have a white Christmas next year? If so, do you want white snow or white sand?
See It. Experience It. Live It.
