GOOD MORNING AR READERS & BLOGGERS!
It is a chilly 38 degrees in North Texas and raining at 10:00 a.m. CST. Temperatures are expected to rise to 40 degrees by noon. On this last day of December 2020, I'm going to report on good news in Texas that has occurred throughout the year followed by my thoughts to ponder and quotes. Today, I begin with the month of January through March. During the next three days, you'll hear about the following quarters through December 31. On the home front, I drank fresh squeezed Orange Juice and enjoyed a Chocolate Croissant followed by FaceTime with my daughter overseas. Although the weather is gloomy, I am warmed up inside and happy to report...

Teachers in Bluff Spring, Texas spring into action when a student's mom went into labor in the school's rest room and delivered her baby. Teachers Amberlynn Balli called 911, Valentina Davalos began cleaning the mouth and nose while rubbing her back to make her cry, and Erica Beverly attended to the mother. Other teachers ran across campus to gather supplies like blankets and gloves. After the ambulance came and took the mother and child to the hospital, it was reported mother and baby are good and healthy!
Thoughts to Ponder: Now that many schools in Texas make it optional for Zoom or in-classroom learning, are stay-at-home kids prepared for family emergencies? ---Patricia Feager

Columbus Ohio Zoo and Fossil Rim Center in Texas made history for endangered species. Kibbi from Ohio and Slash from Texas were a good match to procreate to keep Cheetahs from becoming a dying breed. Biologists began working together to get the cheetahs to reproduce by extracting eggs fertilized from Ohio resident Kibbi with frozen sperm from Texas resident Slash. They were implanted into 3-year-old Izzy who gave birth on February 19. This was the first time in history surrogacy on Cheetahs was successful.
Thoughts to ponder: By now, I'm pretty sure America's census records changed significantly. If scientists are right about the decrease in world-wide population due to the pandemic, will humans become part of their new world order science lab project? ---Patricia Feager
"Our world is built on biology and once we understand it, it then becomes technology" --Ryan Benthoncourt

La La Land Kind Cafe in Dallas Serves Kindness. Business owner Francois Reihani isn't in the coffee business; she hires foster kids from abused families who are considered "aged out" by the foster care system. Once a child turns 18, they don't have anywhere to go and many become homeless. Francois hires them out of kindness and gives them hope while teaching them skills to give them self-worth and confidence. 9 former foster children were hired where Rleihani provides support. "Ciara Morton said she would be homeless if she didn't work there. If this light never came into my life, I would be suffering from depression," she said.
Thoughts to ponder: With so many small businesses closing, I don't know if La La Land Kind Cafe is still open or not. On average, how long will any small business owner last? Reihani had a brilliant idea but single handily Francois can't save all the homeless children or teenagers who are considered "aged out" by the foster care system. Not only do we need a vaccine that is effective and works with an end to the pandemic, we need more kindness and innovative ideas to save the children and youth for future generations. ---Patricia Feager
"If we sit by and become complacent and put our heads in the sand, we're complicit." ---Shelley Morrison

SAVE THE TEENS AND HOMELESS CHILDREN.
POURING COFFE MAY BE THEIR ONLY SKILL.
