So this is it. It's day #366. We've passed GO 12 times, and are about to begin again at 1.
Thinking way back to late Spring or so, I was wishing for a Fast Forward-button. Whilst adjusting to Covid-rules, establishing a distance learning routine, beginning a collection of facial masks, I found the uncertainty of what is to come, how the rest of the year is going to play out, incredibly challenging. The thought of not being able to see my family this year was - and still is - one of the most difficult aspects to cope with.
But just like that, this is it. We made it to the finish line of this astounding challenge that was 2020.
Today means, it is time for the annual ritual of counting all the good in my life, and my corner of the world. I do this on the eve of every year by either quietly reflecting while out on a run, or by allowing thoughts to spill out onto (virtual) paper. The how is not really important, it's all about the why.
I've always believed in the promise of a new dawn, a new sunrise, and the opportunties another day 1 holds. I've always believed in the importance of starting a new year with a grateful heart. No matter the challenges, the heartbreak, the obstacles, there is a tomorrow, and I get to decide how that new day, week, month, or year starts.
I am choosing gratitude.
2020 was a challenge. For you and me both. But it was also a year of growth. My children have grown into young adults, we welcomed a new furry member to our family, it was an incredibly busy year in business, and we all managed to stay healthy. For all these reasons, and more, I am full of gratitude, as well as sorrow. Fully aware of the hardships, and heartbreak around us, I hope that I was at least able to make a small difference, help ease the pain for some, and bring joy to others.
I hope 2021 will turn into an extraordinary year.
I hope 2021 will get us to the light at the end of the Pandemic-tunnel.
I hope 2021 will bring you just what you need.
Wishing you abundant love, health, peace, prosperity, and happiness.
Cheers, and a Happy New Year!
P.S. Juggling a successful year in Real Estate (I have the best clients!), adolescent kids distance learning at home, a new puppy, grounded travel plans, home improving, isolating, zooming it ... has shifted my focus. Just like that 3-4 months have passed since I last posted to this blog! I shall be back, however, and hope to see you then!
