I suspect there are more than few folks who wish to gladly kick 2020 to the curb, and welcome 2021 with open arms. I certainly know I'm one of those who is. While, there have been the 2020 blessing of spending time in isolation to contemplating thing in life of greater importance, there's also been an avalanche of tragedy.
The pandemic found way to my family in March. My daughter, her husband and my grandson, all contracted Covid-19. My son-in-law fared best. My grandson, suffered what seemed like severe flu. It has been my daughter who we label a "long-hauler," who has struggled most. However, she is slowly regaining strength, while fighting this thing each day. Her taste and smell have returned somewhat. Her shortness of breath and fatigue are improving.
California also experienced its share of wildfires in 2020. And, the nation has gone through a divisive presidential campaign and election!
However, on this last evening of the year, I am looking forward to 2021 with hope! I am one of those folks, who believes life will begin return to normalcy with the advent of coronavirus vaccines coming our way. I'm also hopeful, we will find ways to heal political divide, and come together to solve our woes for common good!
I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you, a very prosperous and an especially healthy New Year!
So sorry to read that your family was affected by the virus, but that they are on the road to recovery. Happy Safe and Healthy New Year

Good morning Myrl Jeffcoat,
I'm certainly glad to hear your daughter is improving and on the road to recovery. I'm not sure normalcy will ever be what we experienced in the past but hopeful 2021 will be better than the devil's love affair of 2020. Happy New Year and blessings for a healthy and prosperous 2021!

My mom was someone who struggled with shortness of breath after her COVID infection, but seems to be well past it now. I'm sure your daughter will get there in time.
Happy New Year!

Myrl, I'm sorry to hear about your family members. We have a sister-in-law who is still in ICU and on oxygen. The fatigue is something most people can't imagine. She gets exhausted going from the bed to a nearby chair, but they are trying to keep her moving. I'm grateful your family is on the mend - and hopefully your daughter will be back to 100 percent one of these days.
As for the year, it certainly came with its share of crazy struggles and the divide in our country is one that we hope heals this year too. Happy New Year to you Myrl. D

Good morning Myrl Jeffcoat
I am so sorry to hear your family has been so affected by the virus. I pray they all fully recover! 🙏
The Devil doesn't like to be alone and he was a busy boy in 2020 trying to pull us into his sinister snare. We need to kick him to the curb and move forward in unity.

2020 seemed to spin out of control for all of us, but those like yourself, when it reaches home to the ones you love, it's unforgiving. The wildfires were also out of control. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's experience. I hope her health improves and that all of you and your family members can be reunited to celebrate together in 2021.

Hello Myrl - because of posting and commenting glitches for me at the end of the year and the beginning of 2021, I missed this post but fortunately "found" it today. The devil, you say - this year hasn't turned a leaf, maybe another log in the fire...
Life goes on.

I feel that 2020 was a great learning experience and a real eye-opener for people to take care of them selves . I'm not sorry that I had to live through 2020 but I like it better than the alternative Myrl's...
