Free Christmas Tree Recycling in Carlsbad
Until January 15, 2021
As they do each year, the City of Carlsbad is offering free, curbside pickup of Christmas trees for Carlsbad residents, along with several drop-off locations, through January 15th.
If you want to use curbside pickup on your regular trash pick-up day trees should be placed at the end of your driveway next to your green waste bin.
NOTE: If your tree is taller than 6 feet it can be cut in half then placed next to the green waste bin. If possible you should cut the tree and place it in the Green Waste recycling bin for pick-up.
Be aware that flocked trees cannot be recycled and must be picked up as regular trash (place in the trash bin)
Be sure to remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and tree stands before recycling your tree. Carlsbad converts the trees into mulch for use around San Diego County.
Carlsbad also provides drop-off bins for Christmas trees until January 15th. Here are the 5 recycling locations:
Poinsettia Community Park - 6600 Hidden Valley Road
Calavera Hills Community Park - 2997 Glasgow Drive
Stagecoach Community Park - 3420 Camino de los Coches
Carlsbad Fire Station 1 - 1275 Carlsbad Village Drive
Waste Management – 5960 El Camino Real
For answers to your questions you can contact Waste Management at (760) 929-9400, or visit the Waste Management website. There is plenty of information about other Waste Management services including the 2 buy-back recycling centers, in Carlsbad and Oceanside.
