Motivational Monday - Ring in the New Year with Love
There are a few capacities we each have that come naturally to us. For example, some have the capacity to sing like a beautiful bird or others, to swim like a fish. Learning to love is not necessarily a skill that training and/or coaching will help facilitate - it's something we learn through life's experiences. There is an intrinsic capacity within all of us that can propel us to put forth a concentrated effort, to go extraordinary lengths for love and life - IF we allow it to.
A well-lived life, is one brimming with possibilities for us to acquire the skills we need to love, to be successful and to help others achieve success. So, how do we do that? Do you use your own intrinsic capabilities or do we use our life's experiences? Here are a few ways to work towards learning to love - not only yourself but, others.
First of all, live life with purpose, in the moment. Be open to the world around you, testing your assumptions along the way. Savor what life sends your way - better yet, share it with someone as you live in the moment.
“Change and growth take place when a person has risked himself and dares to become involved with experimenting with his own life.” —Herbert Otto
Forever be a student. I’ve often joked that my goal in life is to forever be a student. I absolutely loved being a student growing up — all the way through college, into nursing and CE classes, to real estate CE. In fact, I always log more hours than are necessary for my licensure. To me, being a student is more than simply being in class, taking tests and making sure your homework is complete. It’s about constantly learning and challenging your ideas, ideals and preconceived notions - even when it comes to love.
Let go of being perfect - just be human.
“Perfection is not a human quality. Let go of it. Don’t aspire to it. Just show up with your self-confidence and your love.” ― Courtney Ferrell
Need I say more? Courtney Ferrell's quote says it all!
Lastly, Help others reach their full potential. Those who are successful will tell you that there are so many opportunities in life to help others. They’ll also tell you to look for those opportunities to help others. Those who are not successful typically ask, “What’s in it for me?”
“It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed."
― Napoleon Hill
Live, love and enjoy life, savoring every moment. Keep in mind that every experience is a lesson in life. Are you paying attention? What did you learn?
Happy Monday! Make it a great 2021!
