Last summer I got a phone call about one of my condo listings in Woodbridge,Virginia from a couple moving to the DC area from Minnesota. They are moving to the DC area to be closer to their two adult sons who both live in Northern Virginia. When they looked at my listing condo, they decided that it wasn't quite the perfect match that they had hoped it would be. We looked at other properties nearby and then started looking in other parts of Northern Virginia.
We looked at a number of condos in Reston, Virginia, an area which was particularly appealing becuae there was a large selection of newer condos close to shops and restaurants. We went under contract on one, but withdrew based on some issues identified in the home inspection. The couple decided to take a break from looking for a few months and went back to Minnesota.
This fall, they came back and we expanded our search once more. This time, we went to Leesburg where we visited a brand new condo project, King Street Station. This is a collection of three or four small buildings, on the edge of the historic area of Leesburg. They fell in love with this project and were able to quickly choose a two bedroom condo that absolutely met their wants and needs. This condo will be available in June, which was not a problem for them. Their new home is going to be beautiful
It is a wonderful feeling to see how happy they are with their new home. Then they mentioned that their son and his wife are going to be looking for a new home too. They wondered if I would be able to help the son and his wife find a new home as I had helped them. That was an easy and quick yes.
I met with their son and his wife just before Thanksgiving. We had coffee at an outdoor restaurant on a beautiful day and we talked about what they were looking for. Over the next week or two, we looked at homes in Montgomery County and in Northern Virginia. We started to focus on Reston, just as his parents had earlier this summer. In less than three weeks, we found a great townhome on a quiet cul de sac in Reston that had been fully renovated. It had a nice back yard for their dog and lots of room for all the family to visit. We closed right after Christmas and they will be moving in soon.
I don't have a specific recommendation from the parents yet - other than the trust that they showed me by asking me to help their son. Honestly, I can't imagine a better recommendation than that - but here is the review that I got from their daughter in law.
"Lise is knowledgable and trustworthy. She helped us find the right home for us in our price range and without pressure. She is personable and friendly. Would absolutely recommend working with Lise!"
Working with nice people like these - I feel like I should be the one writing postive reviews! Isn't it nice when we get to work with great clients?
