Fingers Crossed…

 

Last week Larry and I were watching our backyard guests and noticed that Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird were making quite a few trips to the birdhouse. They do this throughout the year...one goes in and comes out and then another one will as well.

We thought it might be a way of marking their territory for the other bird guests we have.

But then we noticed that Mrs. Bluebird was carrying in bits of pine straw. Larry let the door down and peeked in!

 

 

Look what we found when Larry checked on the box!

Brian England we are very excited and a little concerned because it is still winter. I have to have faith that they know what they're doing. 

Wayne Martin we wonder if they are the original bluebirds or their offspring.

Grant Schneider I think it depends on the bird species. Bluebirds are used to being checked on. When the eggs are laid, we check to make sure that everything is ok as well.
