"Released annually in January, the first section of the Real Estate Almanac, Executives/Leaders (SP 200), ranks the most powerful and influential executives in the residential real estate industry."
Ranking #70 is Ben Kinney, Regional Owner, Keller Williams Western and owner of ActiveRain. Ben is a "multidimensional leader." Kinney's empire "includes a real estate team, brokerage, coaching and technology firm." Under his KW brand, there are "over 1,400 agents who do more than $4.3 billion in annual sales." Leaders continue to grow their business. Recent accomplishments include "Forward Coaching, and two tech startups, Gabbi.ai and Redman Tech."
My thoughts on leadership? Leaders must be courageous and offer something different and of value. They are able to persuade and influence others and they know how to confront and challenge people. Strong leaders can easily identify their core values, evaluate and re-evaluate to check on overall alignment. Top ranking leaders are high performers who continuously strive to elicit higher performance from others who follow.
Through strong leadership a culture is born with a mindset that demands high excellence for overall organizational success. A Leader's goal is to climb, climb, CLIMB the ladder of success while the search is on for new leaders to emerge and climb the ranks of the highest executives.
A true Leader makes sacrifices without breaking a sweat to the public and maintains their cool. If a Leader doesn't push the followers beyond their own limitations, success will not follow the Leader.
At the time I joined, I discovered Bob Stewart and Ben Kinney, of ActiveRain offered a one-day RainCamp around the country to teach leaders in the real estate industry. I flew to Houston in the Fall of 2010 to attend Raincamp where I met Bob, Ben, and Kerrie. My business began in January 2003. I'm glad that the leaders included Points on ActiveRain so that AR Bloggers could check the status of the Leader Board to see how they rank. As I review my strategic plan for 2021, I'm working on new methodology techniques to excel in business and to attract followers and grow my business. It's great to occasionally look in the rear view mirror, but most important of all, stay focused on the Big Picture.
Ben offered so much information when he was doing Raincamps It was tough to keep up. And he was a down to earth guy then and I would assume he is today as well.

Thanks for writing about Ben Kinney's recognition in the Real Estate Almanac, I knew he was a thought leader but it's interesting to see his name on the lists, too. Your thoughts on leadership are inspiring.
Steffy Hristova - To many of us, Ben Kinney is a name everyone on ActiveRain knows or will know in time. It was interesting to read about his recent success and how he measures up to the top 200. For his age, he has accomplished quite a lot!
You are the only one who commented on my thoughts on leadership. You'll never know how much that meant to me. Thank you!
