Nina Hollander  It started in NH around 1984 with a flood of new duplex buildings. They turned each into condos and sold them separately getting more money and more profit from each lot. Each side usually maintains their half the yard and driveway. Both sides pay a yearly master insurance on the building. Many have a condo fee that puts money away for the roof, but some just share costs when they up optng for no fee. The plusses are there is less rules than a condo meaning you can have a garden, put up a pool or swing set.
