“A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”
Our patience get tested by people, situations and challenges. Has you learn and grow in the truth of God you add to your understanding and wisdom. As you hang around different people, with their unique challenges you can learn from what they are going through as well. Each one of us have had times of testing, challenges and sometimes they have caused us to lose our patience.
As we continue to grow in the Lord and learn how to understand ourselves and others better we will get better at having patience. We can have patience with other people. We can have patience with their “sinfulness”. We know by nature we have some shortcomings as well. We gladly receive grace when we fall short and feel the love and forgiveness of God. We can offer the same for other people.
There are situations perhaps to not overlook an offense, but most often each person can learn from the offense if we handling it with great patience and use the wisdom we glean from it as a teaching moment. Help each other to expand in grace and grow instead of being offended! Its something most people need help getting better at and you can be a great help with the Lord’s leading to serve in this way!
LORD I KNOW THE MANY TIMES I HAVE BEEN OFFENDED OR HAVE OFFENDED SOMEONE ELSE. FIRST I THANK YOU FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS AND WILL LOOK FIRST TO NOT BE OFFENDED BY OTHERS BUT FIND THE TEACHING MOMENT IN THE SITUATIONS.
