I've been seriously considering posting a blog and here I am -- my first one. I wanted to post something meaningful and beneficial to the people who read my blog. Hopefully, this will have an impact on someone and they will be able to do their job better.
I am a Realtor in Lubbock, Texas. I utilize the resources that the Texas Association of Realtors offer. Their website has a plethora of information that enables me to do my job better. For several years, I have been utilizing the benefits of e-signing. Several years ago, e-signed signatures were recognized as a valid and legal way to execute a contract.
As I was browsing the TAR site, I found an offer from Docusign.com. They had partnered with Zip Forms and offered a fast and easy way to obtain signatures via email. I checked out their site, www.docusign.com and took a look at the tutorial. It made perfectly good sense to me.
In these days of rising gas prices, it is wonderful to be able to deliver a repair amendment or numerous other documents by emailing the document to a client for e-signing. I seldom have to drive all over town chasing down each party to obtain a signature. My clients love it too because they don't have to drive to my office to meet me and can stay at home and just click.
Not too long ago, I represented a Buyer from Dallas. The cooperating Broker represented a Seller from Pennsylvania. We delivered the offer for the purchase of the home to the other Agent. She contacted her Seller and after a couple of conversations, we had ourselves an agreed upon price for the house. Her client was elderly and had to go to a copy store to wait for a fax, then sign, then fax back. It was quite an ordeal for her and was going to take days to actually get an executed contract. The other agent agreed to let me send the contract via email to each party. Within an hour, we had an executed contract legally signed by all parties that I could save and send to the lender at the same time. No faxing copies that became difficult to read by faxing again and again.
Anything you can scan, you can send for e-signing.
I cannot sing the praises of this service enough. It is great to be able to conduct business at any time of the day or night by simply having clients click in a few places. It is easy to use and affordable. This service allows me to be a better agent. I recommend checking into www.docusign.com.
