This is a fantastic post for current times Jan! Last year was unsettling in many ways and learning to be still was such a challenge and now I am ready to get moving and grooving (and hopping) again.

You know it Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! . Challenging times that really pushed us into retraining our brains without so much human contact! -I bought a dance type CD so that I could work out better at home - we'll see how far that goes! Keep moving!

It is shocking to see the stars look old. You are right in my mind's eye they are always young. Even more shocking is how many of the stars I have followed over the years are dying.
I guess that means I am getting older too.

I like the AARP magazine but don't always read it - I missed the Queen's tips but have to say they are all "spot-on."
Thank you for sharing!

You're right CANDACE (Candy) STEVENS ! They age too, but we don't follow them as much to see it until we see it in print. Check out the link for the issue as there are more stars in that month's magazine. Thanks for commenting!
Hi Jan- I've been a member for years and must have missed this issue. I am so happy that you shared the Queen's tips as well as how you are working on them. I have to have some structure in my routine even though I'm retired. It's what works for me.

Good afternoon Jan Green ,
I'm so glad that Kathy Streib featured your post in her "Ah-ha" moments for the week..such a perfect post for today's times. Loved the 10 pearls of wisdom from the queen. Thank you for sharing!
I am at a stage of life where I am happy to recognize the person that is shaving in the mirror in the morning

Kathy Streib - it's a great magazine and I look forward to it now that I've read a couple of them! Thank you for the feature in What I Learned this Week!
I hear ya Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD ! I felt the same in not signing up, but after reading a couple issues I'm glad I joined. There's always something useful in each issue. And they are filled with so much content!

We were receiving the magazine for awhile and I did enjoy reading the articles.
I'm glad you shared about the Queen's article. I'm currently enjoying watching The Crown.

Never stop playing--that is ever so important during the pandemic. pre covid, I would meet with clients and or friends once a week for happy hour, lunch , coffee and I REALLY miss it. So for my closer friends, we have improvised: we brown bag lunch and meet in my building parking lot to chat. I' meet in parks when the weather is warm. With clients, if the home is vacant, we'll take some extra time to chat while in the house. I CRAVE more social interaction and just got more creative to keep it up!

There is so much information in the AARP magazine so you'll be pleasantly surprised Melissa Jackson . I read it enroute to Alabama in November and saw the issue again and wrote the blog, a little late, but it was a keeper!

Glad you enjoyed it Endre Barath, Jr. - and yes human interest articles carry a lot of weight right now. I don't think I've ever been this emotional - gotta be too much isolation! -
Jan Green - I was also reluctant to join and when I did, I let the magzines pile up. Then one day I started reading articles of interest and was impressed by the quality of articles there very well written and educational. My favorite part of AARP right now are the invitations to movies and the arts, and many great free events to watch on-line for free. There wasn't one I didn't think was worth my time. You know what, if you're not aging, you're not growing. That's how I look at it.

Thank you for reading and sharing your history with the magazine. Likewise, love the content and so much helpful information. And I agree, but I think if you're not growing then you're stale!
LOL! I hear ya Sheri Sperry - MCNE® ! You have to sign up. I paid $12 or something like that for an annual membership - definitely worthwhile! Happy reading!
I am hopeful that my life will soon be back to much more "in order" than the past year. My parents, daughter and son in law will all have the vaccine soon. My husband and I had covid in January and you can bet your butt there will soon be some lovin on my family. I love most of the advice. I am very "change" resistant.... but I do what I gotta do.

So sorry to hear you and your hubby had covid Tammy Lankford, . That's awful! I know how you feel about change. The older we get, the harder change is!
