My grandparents were married for 63 years.  Every summer for the majority of that time, they vacationed in their home in Oak Bluffs, on Martha's Vineyard.  When Grandmother died suddenly in 1979, the question was whether or not Grandfather would make the trip to the Vineyard.  They always drove up and he was now 93 - could, or rather should, he go on his own.  There was no way we could just tell him he couldn't go!  Once this man made up his mind, there was no changing it.  I went with him.  It was a trip down memory lane to the summer I spent with them when I was 10.  Much like Hudson, the impact of that time together will live with me forever.

Such a heart warming story that tugs at the heart strings. I think of that now that my daughters' grandfather passed and grandmother is '91.  She is poor health and when they lose her, it will devastate them.  Good souls are hard to lose!
