Where's the music, where are we...? Well frankly I got a little lost over the weekend. I got us to New Jersey and then got busy with personal stuff that needed taking care of and suddenly tomorrow is the inaugaration of our next President.
So, rather than continue our journey, I am going to post some music that is appropriate for that event. I also think as a nation we need to reclaim our flag and our colours. It seems like the far right has stolen the flag, and our national colours. Those are ours, not theirs to use for thier own use alone. They belong to our nation, everyone of us. Enjoy, I hope what I choose makes you happy, because music should mainly, some makes you sad I admit, but this is a happy occaision, a celebration of our democracy and we all move on together.
Let's start with the US marine Corps Band and some John Phillip Souza, playing the Stars and Stripes Forever.
This song, originally by Woodie Guthrie but known as a Pete Seeger song This Land is Your Land seems appropriate today.
I am sure there are many songs we coud play today, but I am going to keep it short. To wrap up is this song sung by Kate Smith, God Bless America from This is the Army 1943.
Have a good day, whatever your politics and remember we are all Americans and over the years the make up of our country has changed.
God Bless America.
