It's always a bit amusing when potential clients think we are just sitting around waiting for them to call and we have nothing else to do!  Some days are slow, some are packed, and I can juggle priorities, but I don't have a clone.  Sometimes another time is just going to have to do! 

My motto has always been out of plain courtesy 24 hrs notice for any of my showings, owner or tenant occupied... no explanation needed it is all about being polite and respecting other people's time I never believed in the McDonald' business model for real estate and it served me well for the past 26+ year:)Endre

So true!!! All they need to know is you're not available. We don't need to explain ourselves even if it is much needed personal time.

There are proper ways to inform and still be considered a busy professional.  Letting a client know too much about what we do can be an issue

I have practiced this since the beginning of my career.  No one needs to know what we are doing when we aren't with them.  Or why we aren't available at that time.

Hi Margaret- I took my clue on this years ago from a friend. She never felt compelled to provide a reason for why she was not available for something. Sometimes she did but not always. 

Margaret #2 would be a possible response for me every two years.

I think people think they need to justify their reasons for not being available when they really don't.  The other person doesn't know if you are doing something personal or have a listing appointment or what.

agree! I've also heard TMI over the years. Worse yet when they leave a VM for you & you hear toilets flushing in the background.
