Security System Benefits

By
Real Estate Agent with Irongate Inc. REALTORS SAL.2006006317

Other than the obvious peace of mind, security systems offer an additional benefit. They actually lower your home owner's insurance! I have ADT and I believe the outside security system signs alone are a theft deterant. Do you have a security system, why or why not?

I have a security system at my home and think that it is a great investment. I think that it's important to find a system that fits your needs and comes fully backed by guarantees such as a performance warranty, an equipment warranty, an emergency service guarantee, a satisfaction guarantee and a false alarm fine guarantee.

The false alarm fine guarantee is especially important because over 98% of all burglar alarms are false. Police are growing very frustrated with having to respond to multiple false alarms and many police departments are issuing fines to homes that call in multiple false alarms. There is also a growing trend requiring verified response in order for police to respond to burglar alarms at all. Verified response means that there must be some sort of confirmation that a burglary is actually taking place for police to respond. This makes it very important to invest in a system that provides verification so the police can trust they are responding to an actual burglary.
