Here’s the January 2021 Carlsbad Art Wall Mural
The newest Carlsbad Art Wall mural and the 1st for 2021, “Kindness Unites,” is a collaboration between artist Andrea J’Neene Team and the Carlsbad global non-profit, Kids for Peace and its co-founder and executive director, Jill McManigal.
This particular mural has a special message for all in 2021 and beyond…a hope for many days of kindness, positivity and unity!
Kids for Peace sponsors the Great Kindness Challenge and other programs. The 2021 Great Kindness Challenge starts tomorrow, January 25th and runs through Friday January 29th. In 2020 over 15,000,000 children in 115 countries participated from 28,002 schools, displaying over 750 million acts of kindness.

If you live nearby or have visited Carlsbad, you likely have driven by this colorful wall on Carlsbad Village Drive. Even if you aren’t aware of the official #CarlsbadArtWall name you may have observed changing murals on the east-facing wall of Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant, just west of the train tracks as you head to the beaches.
Well-known Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder, founded the Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) 2015, in cooperation with the owner of Senor Grubby’s in Carlsbad Village. The Carlsbad Art Wall is a beautiful, and very visible, venue for residents and visitors to enjoy temporary public art by local, regional and international artists, with several new murals each year.
Carlsbad’s reputation as an arts community continues to grow and change with abundant public art (an interactive map on the City of Carlsbad website). The Carlsbad Art Wall is a very special part of our expanding and vibrant arts community!
Muralists invite the public to watch them at work, and murals are painted over a weekend. This particular mural creation encouraged children to add their own messages to the mural – here are some photos.
