Simi Valley is home to a vast array of beautiful outdoor experiences. From the mountain range that encircles most of the city, to the breathtaking sunsets; Simi Valley has some of the most beautiful sights in all of California.

One thing that adds to the mystique of Simi Valley is its parks.

Here are 5 of the most popular parks in Simi Valley:

 Rancho Tapo Community Park

Rancho Tapo Community Park (known better as Lemon Park) is home to the award-winning Veteran’s Plaza. The plaza features fountains and memorial pilasters that spectacularly pay tribute to those who have served America.

The park also features basketball courts, a softball diamond, tennis courts, pickleball courts, a play area, bocce ball courts, a walking path, and much more.

Lemon Park got its nickname because it’s located on Lemon Drive.

Rancho Simi Community Park

Rancho Simi Community Park (also known as The Duck Park) was the first community park built in Simi Valley, and it’s also one of the largest. This park offers a reservable amphitheater, barbecues, basketball courts, baseball fields, horseshoe pits, picnic tables, a play area, shuffleboard courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and of course… a duck pond.

The biggest draw of this park is the lagoon, which is where a good number of ducks and geese live (this is where the park gets its nickname from). This park is located on the west side of Simi Valley.

The Duck Park also features an Olympic size swimming pool which has two diving boards.

Rancho Madera Community Park

This park is located in the Wood Ranch section of Simi Valley. This park is most famous for the annual Snowfest Event. Rancho Madera Community Park has an amphitheater, a small walking path, basketball courts, picnic areas, gazebos, a playground, tennis courts, and more.

 Corriganville Park

Corriganville Park is home to the Corriganville Movie Ranch, which over the course of the past 80 years has seen the production of over 3,500 movies, commercials, TV shows, and commercials.

Located on the east side of Simi Valley, Corriganville was named after its original owner and founder, Ray Corrigan who was an actor who appeared in a variety of Westerns. In 1965 Corrigan sold the property to Bob Hope. Hope would then create a housing community called Hopetown in the mid-90s.

Corriganville Park is home to a very vast and wonderful walking path and various filming locations that are no longer used for that purpose.

 Sycamore Park

Last but not least is Sycamore Park. As one of the smallest parks in Simi Valley, it has lesser numbers of amenities, but one thing that it does have that no other park in Simi has is its unique rock formation called Elephant Rock. Elephant Rock is a large rock formation that children and young adults enjoy climbing. Additionally, the campsite in the park used to be the area that Chumash residents from the past used to live in.
