Good morning, Rocky... I'm of the school of thought that for me "failure is not an option." So I don't go into anything without the expectation that something good will happen... sometimes it's not quite as much as I'd like... but the alternative was to do nothing... and for me, that is failure.

Hi Rocky Dickerson -  getting to the NO is something salespeople have to understand.  I didn't know that about Johnny Carson but he appeared as a natural.

If we look for new ways, new techniques, new systems, we may very well find a dozen that don’t work. And yet we may find 1 that is phenomenal.

Many of us have learned important lessons with our failures.

I did not know about Johnny Carson and his morning routine, nor that he gave jokes away after he stopped hosting his show. What a guy!

As for failure, if we're not failing, we're trying nothing new. Sometimes things don't work out and we have to try again. And that is what life lessons are made of.

Heck, I am pretty sure I have many failures each and every day and my hope is that I learn from each and every one of them and grow stronger in the future.

I don't remember reading this story about him. I did see him in person once when I was a teenager waiting for him after taping one of his "to tell the truth" shows...He woundn't sign autographs...

Love the premise of this post, I have heard the adage fail fast and often before. We should not fear failure, it is a learing experience, whilst our ego may not like failure, we can use it as a stepping stone forward.

Rocky I don't look for failure, but I don't run away from it either.  In sales we get far more "NO's" than "YES's", so the quicker we get the "NO's" out of the way, the Quicker we can get to the "YES's".

Hi Rocky- and yet there are many who give up after just one failure. It's another reminder to keep trying!!  I do miss the old late night talk shows that were funny.
