It is all Tom Plant's fault!!!! Tom wrote such an interesting MeMe and then MeMe'd me.....I don't know if I can match what he has done, but here goes:
1- My favorite music artist: There are so many, that these lists of favorites are impossible to narrow down! Let's name a few on top of my music favorite list:
Mireille Mathieu has been one of my favorites for years and years!!!! She does a fantastic job singing Edith Piaf's 'La Vie en Rose' and so many other songs!!!
Reinhard Mey is a German singer that I fell in love with in the 1970's and still enjoy listening to!!!
Then there is Peter Hofmann (another one of those Germans) and Andrea Bocelli
I cannot leave Loreena McKennitt off of this list and there are so many others I could add!!!!
2- My favorite artist: Here we go again.....so many to choose from and most would be artists that nobody has heard of, so let's go with two of my well known favorites:
Monet and Renoir - the light and color of Impressionism is fantastic plus so many of their paintings remind me of my own life experiences!
3- If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be??? Well, it has always been His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet, since I am Tibetan Buddhist and I admire the man!
That said, I would also like to meet my Grandfather Roberts and learn about his life. He died before I was born and I always heard so many stories about his life and the two families he had (my father was born in Grandfather's second marriage and he told me what he knew about his half siblings, but it was not a lot of information.....I would love to know more about this man who did so many diverse things in life and died so young of a heart attack.)
4 - My favorite blogger - again there are so many, but I love reading Katerina's blogs about Wellington, her family and her heritage. The blog she wrote about Nestor for Father's Day was really great!!!
I also love reading the insights of Charles McDonald and Patricia Kennedy, to name a few.
5- What did you want to be when you grew up???
Well, since my Junior High was spent in Catholic school, I guess it would be pretty normal that I wanted to be a nun. Perhaps the not so normal part was that I wanted to be a strictly cloistered Carmelite nun.
That sure did not last into high school!!!! Need I say more...............
6- If I could live in any point in history, when would it be and why???
Well, since my MA started out in the German Middle Ages and ended up being on US Immigration History from Europe, I would be interested in going back in time and being a fly on the wall to observe. However, I would NOT want to live back then!
I love our modern conveniences, medicines, lack of diseases, the fact that we live longer, so I would have to stay where I am. Besides, there is NO WAY I would want to be without Sascha and Corinna, my own two 'children' (at 27 and 29 years of age, I guess I can't really call them children anymore!!!)
7- What is the most interesting job I have ever had???? I would have to say what I do right now! I love real estate, the freedom it gives me, the interesting people I constantly meet, the continuing education I am part of............yes, this is the most interesting job!!!
My others have been clerk, private employment counselor, bank teller, worked in a factory for 3 months in Europe, worked as a maid in an exclusive hotel for 12 hours in Europe, telemarketing sales, telemarketing customer service, bilingual secretary, middle school teacher, high school teacher, adult school instructor, pottery instructor, private docent for both the public and private sector in Germany, mother.......Mother is right up there with Realtor in spots that are interesting and teach SO MUCH ABOUT LIFE!!!!
And now who to MeMe????? Let me pass the torch on to James Downing, Anne Hensel and Cris Burlew!!!
We need some 'fresh blood' in this list of MeMe's!!!!!
