I admit it, I got hot under the collar when I read a recent “clickbait” hit piece making REALTORS look unprofessional and unethical. I asked a question on Q&A about it and a lot of people got upset about the article (you can read it here) including Kathleen Daniels and Debe Maxwell. This challenge is in response to that. Just so you know, many publications will pay writers based upon how many people will “click” on their inflammatory headline. A report by the Columbia Journalism Review highlighted the case of online magazine Slant, which pays writers $100 per month plus $5 for every 500 clicks on their stories. In recent SEO seminars, the instructors have stated to use an odd number and an inflammatory word in your headline to get more clicks “The 5 ways to tell if they are cheating”, “The 7 dangers of dealing with the media” or “The 9 things to beware of when calling a reporter”.
So, this month you will have 3 chances for extra points. Each post must be at least 350 words and must contain at least one chart, graphic, picture or video that you like (barring any copyright infringement).
THE FIRST POST - 1st post can be about the media and it can be in response to the article however it must be posted by February 9th at midnight.
Or you can make it about positive things about working with agents or positive things that agents do. If it is an article about agents the first article can be posted by February 28th.
THE SECOND POST - 2nd post is a post focusing on positive things about working with agents or positive things that agents do. The second post must be posted by February 28th.
THE THIRD POST - If you would like to do a third post, then again you have 2 options. The first is a one-on-one interview with an agent that has excelled in our field and not only has a great reputation but is also known for making service to the community a priority. For the interview, there is a minimum of 350 words.
Option 2 for the third post is to write a “Bucket Filling” post where you single out 7 agents on Active Rain and tell what you admire about each agent or what you are grateful for in each agent. This post can be a minimum of 350 words. Either option must be posted by February 28th.
When you write these posts, fulfilling the first post gets you 700 bonus points. Fulfilling the second post gets you another 700 bonus points. Fulfilling the third one gets you an extra 1,000 bonus points. Total available bonus points are 2,400 per person.
To be eligible for points, write your posts according to the above parameters, make them visible to the public, and finally post the links to your posts as a single comment below (please post your links in bold as well).
