Barbara Todaro with two "older ladies" and this 30 something or other - it was very scary. I checked in on my neighbor at 8am, and she was good, thankfully.
Michael Jacobs we had SUCH a wonderful dinner, talked of travels, and just a wonderful evening, and sure ended weird! We had dinner at Centennial airport, which is a small airport for private jets.

Grant Schneider I went down to my neighbor's home at 8 this morning, she had no issues last night. She plans to ask her neighbor if she knows this dude. Have not seen the car on our street today, but know the plate, so will keep an eye out.
OH Boy .... sorry you have to deal with this nonsense, last night... JOAN ...
Glad you were able to stay safe in the car and get the license plate of this man.

Such odd behavior! I sure hope the police caught up with him, and I'm glad to hear that you and your neighbor were safe.
I may have to set my phone to do-not-disturb in the evenings, too many scam calls lately. Does it only apply to calls or things like Facetime and WhatsApp as well? The latter is how I stay in touch with my fam in Germany, I wouldn't want to miss their calls.

Andrea Bedard you can tell it to keep certain apps or calls to come in. Also, if someone calls twice in 15 minutes it will go through. I have my phone on Do Not Disturb from 8 pm to 7:30 am.

Nina Hollander it was very scary last night. I eliminated my home phone, so need a phone just in case, so have it next to the bed. Unless it is an emergency, I don't get any emails, calls or texts until 7:30 am.

That is just scary and weird Joan. Glad you acted quickly and called 011. Did the cops take down his licenese plate. I hope they follow up. This dude did not have good intentions. Stay safe!
Jeff Dowler, CRS not yet. I checked in on my neighbor, and she had no issues after she got home. I plan to call the police station to see if they had any future info in a bit. Been a busy day.
Anna Banana Kruchten CRS CRB, Phoenix Broker it was very scary, and asked my neighbor this morning if I had done everything I could to keep us both safe, and she said she was so shaken, she probably would have forgotten to call 911. I did give the police his license plate, so if anything else should arise, another thing he could be in trouble for!

That was a very strange evening. I always mute the phone at night as the pinging of text alerts can get annoying. I also did not know that about 911 but aso have ever called them
Joan- that's a scary story, and I'm glad that you and your friend are safe!!! My phone goes on Do Not Disturb after 10 but those in my Favorites list will get through and if someone continues to call they will.
It is so good to hear that you listened to that inner voice telling you to be cautious and that you are safe. I hope the police did find that guy and figure out what he was up to.
We have got to be situationally aware at all times, and pay attention to that inner voice. Good thinking in getting out of there.
Raymond Henson, SRES, GRI it was very scary, and should call the police department to see if anything was done about this. We did not see him again in the "hood".
Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I checked in with my neighbor the next morning too, and she had to take her pups out before bed, but she did not see the visitor.
That's a very scary incident and reminds me of something that happened to me in 1990, before I had a cell phone. Same thing...dropping a friend off at her home. Got hemmed by a car that raced up behind us and the man got out and approached our car. I took off. Went to a grocery store where we knew there was a pay phone to call her home and have her brother waiting for us. It was terrifying.
Cell phones definitely make life easier.
Good evening Joan Cox ,
I'm so glad that Kathy Streib included your post in her "Ah-Ha" moments for the week as I missed it. You have to be on guard and as my Geno always said "Watch your six." You were smart to call 911 and not drop your neighbor off when it wasn't safe. Cells phones can be a curse but can be such a blessing.
