Rivers Rising in South Central Missouri

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Debbie DiFonzo - United Country VIP Realty, SW Missouri

We’re very fortunate here in South Central Missouri. We’ve had above normal amounts of rain for June and for the year. Yet, we have NOT had the flood damage seen in other parts of the state and the country.

Rivers, however, are running fast. They are high. They are muddy and murky.

My husband Ray is in the process of listing ten acres on the Niangua River, a short distance outside Bennett Spring State Park. On Friday, Ray walked the property, finding a path going down to the river. It’s hard to tell exactly what the shore line looks like – the water is up high.

We’ve been rain free for three days now; haven’t heard the weekly forecast yet. It will be interesting to see how this property looks as the water recedes.

Debbie, It seems as you are getting too much of what we need badly - rain. Send some buckets of it our way...

Debbie, Seeing what is going on in the news is heartbreaking, I hope your area and all the others are spared and the waters begin to recede.

Jesse - With a road roughed in, $49,900

Michael - We'll get an AR bucket bragade going!

Patricia - This is normally a popular floating river. Not this year - too muddy and dirty!

Carole - We've been very lucky here. You're right, when you watch the news, you know we are fortunate.

Sounds like a good price... here that would be a small fortune even in the middle of nowhere.

Jesse - We still have good prices and low taxes. River front property is a rare commodity here. Not much on the market and what is, goes quickly.

Thankfully, we've been rain free for almost three days! Calling for rain tonight; we'll see.

Debbie,

Thank you for joining Missouri Listings. I have to tell you that Lebanon Missouri is one of my favorite places on the planet. I love me some Bennett Springs and of course Weavers Bait & Tackle!  I go at least 6-8 times a year. The fishing and people are always very nice and enjoyable.

I enjoyed reading a bunch of your blog entries! I hope business is well for you! Thanks again for joining missouri listings...

Thanks Rick! I look forward to participating in the group - next time you're in the area, be sure to let me know. I'd be great to meet a fellow Rainer!

BTW, river is still high. We had almost 2 inches of rain last night!
