Luke 2:46-47
“After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.”
This part of Luke 2 notes that every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. They traveled in a large group and didn’t realized they had left Jesus behind. What Jesus was doing was spending time with the teachers to learn and grow. Who can help you learn and grow your faith? Spend time with others who have knowledge and ask questions.
Jesus, the son of God, still made extra effort to get the learning he needed. He listened to the teachers of his time and asked questions. He shared what he knew and understood and people were at that time already amazed by his answers! The WORD was already in him, but these sort of interactions helped draw it out.
Same with you. You will need time with others of faith to draw out what is already in you. To share stories, to ask questions, to listen. We are meant to share our faith and that is how we grow. This can certainly be done by finding teachers or mentors of faith to help you. And it can also be done by getting a group of believers together for a small group so that you can all grow and share together!
THANK YOU LORD FOR THE EXAMPLE OF SEEKING OUT OTHERS, LISTENING, LEARNING, AND GROWING OUR FAITH. HELP ME TO SEEK OUT OTHERS TO GROW OUR FAITH TOGETHER AS WELL!
