This video shows the rise of the snow level from the start to the end - looking to the west (Coffeepot Rock) and the east. It shows the incremental rise of the snow level and eventual evaporation of the snow. Notice also, "Xander" the hummingbird sticking through the storm to guard his juice source!
Sedona as well as most of Arizona has been in an exceptional drought. So the rain and the 8.25 inches of snow were a big surprise and very welcomed!
the 8.25 inches of snow fell over 3 days. Tuesday, got almost 6 inches of snow and the temperature never made it above freezing. For some, this might not be unusual but for our area of Soldiers Pass, this is only the 4th time in 11 years that the high temperature did not get above 32º.

Hi Michael Jacobs, This is the second year we have kept the feeders outside. Every night we would bring them in until I saw a post from Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD about hummingbird feeder warmers. Now we leave them outside all night.
Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - I would drive my son to Mountain High snowboarding but the roads were always plowed. Only in the last few years have I drive a little in the snow.

Xander is a trooper. Good for you, providing a year-round food source for these little jewel birds is good for them and good for us. Wow, wish we'd get some snow this year - looks so fun. D
Hi Chris Ann Cleland - Sedona sits right on the border of the Colorado Plateau and the Sonora Desert so we get a variety of flora and fauna! Our area has a lot of pine trees and junipers.
Hi, Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - You are probably getting the storm that we had a few days ago. Our snow is all gone. There are just a few patches left.
Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - When the snow is falling it reminds me of that scene from "White Christmas" when the cast opens the barn doors up. We have floor to ceiling glass in the front and rear. I feel like we are in a snow globe.
