And then I saw his face...!  

 

This morning, I Face-timed with my Dad for the first time ever. It was so good to see him in real time and then realized how much I miss him! The thousands of miles that separate us became non-existent as we caught up with one another.

 

This past year of remaining in place has taught me that there are no guarantees going forward, only what we have in the here and now. So, share yourself with others, whether it's making a call, taking a stroll, hiking a trail or having lunch.

 

You never know when a simple Face-time call may be a respite from an otherwise monotonous day. It can absolutely lift the spirits as well, especially when unexpected!

 

Take what the world offers up this day, be available and make it special. Today is a gift.

It sure is Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP. I lost a favorite uncle last year to depression caused by isolation when he was not allowed to see his family. That was so wrong! Being cooped up encourages poor health, we are meant to move, stretching our legs, socialize - touch and be touched and get out in the great outdoors, to inspire and be inspired far beyond what a screen or phone call can offer.

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! - I feel the same way. This time on earth without being in close contact to see our family and loved ones in person is disheartening. I'm in the same boat. It tears me apart. Time is so precious and lost time due to the pandemic is much harder on the elderly.
