Wordless Wednesday - Let's Play!

Let's play! - Wordless Wednesday

At first glance, this photo may look like the horses are fighting.  In a way they are.  They are actually playing rough.  These two horses are truly the best of friends and every so often they decide to be rough with each other.  Other times they may just run around, rear and buck with each other.  It's amazing how the Thoroughbred is challenging the Percheron (big black draft horse).  You would never know that these two stick by each other most of the time, and look out for each other, as best friends do.  Just don't get in the way when they do decide to play rough.

Good afternoon Brigita McKelvie, Associate Broker - that actually looks a little like my two daughter's dogs playing rough.

Hi Brigita,  I grew up on a farm and we had a couple of horses that would play that way too.  I know you see it in smaller animals quite a bit - it just looks different when the big animals do it.

Hi Brigita- I love horses and they look like they're having fun. I often see squirrels doing something similar in our backyard...just on a smaller scale!!!

That draft horse has big hooves and could do a lot of damage if it were to actually get mad

That is a great photo!  It makes me miss the photos Trish used to take of the wild horses in my area.

I don't think I've ever seen horses play like that Brigita.  How fun to watch, and capture to pixels.

Good morning, Will!

In my town, we got 36" of snow.  It took me 3 days of digging out.  I do have to admit that it did look pretty, though.

It is quite similar to dogs playing - only on a larger scale.

Good morning, Ed!

Believe it or not, the draft horses are known as "gentle giants", although they can get a little pushy at times.

If I could, I would spend the whole day just watching the horses.  It is so relaxing and calming.
